Winter Percussion concert is Tuesday, March 14

In addition to their Winter Concerts, many FHS Band students have been busy with recent performances around the Twin Cities. On Saturday, March 4, Jazz I and Jazz II traveled to the University of Minnesota for their annual Jazz Festival, and members of Farmington Winter Percussion took part in a Percussion Showcase at the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis.

The Jazz Ensembles, directed by Erin Holmes and Bradley Mariska, received positive feedback from a panel of professional jazz clinician  and performed in the University of Minnesota's Ted Mann Concert Hall. The performance included several student soloists, including Conner McCarthy (pictured) on trumpet.

Farmington Winter Percussion, directed by Krissy Bergmark, was featured along with percussion ensembles from several metro area schools during MacPhail's Percussion Showcase day. Students worked with Michael Rosen, Profession of Percussion at Oberlin College Conservatory of Music. The Winter Percussion Final Concert is Tuesday, March 14 in the FHS Recital Hall. It begins at 7pm and is free and open to the public.
